What you’re working towards

An even, high-gloss and water-repellent finish on correctly cleaned paint without streaks, high spots or uncontrolled overspray.

What you need

• Hermosa Ceramic Spray & Quick Detailer
• Waterproof gloves
• Two clean, dry microfibre towels
• Suitable wash and decontamination products where the paint is not already clean

Before application

• Work out of direct sun on paint that is cool, clean and dry.
• Remove bonded contamination rather than sealing it beneath the finish.
• Ceramic Spray provides 3–6 months of protection. Graphene Ceramic Coating is the separate, longer-term coating for correctly prepared paint.
• On matte finishes, Ceramic Spray may add a slight sheen, making the surface appear less matte.

How to apply

1. Clean and inspect. Confirm the paint is free from loose dirt, mineral deposits, tar and iron contamination.
2. Test first. Apply to a small inconspicuous section when the paint, wrap or previous protection is uncertain.
3. Apply sparingly. Mist onto a towel or a small panel section to control overspray.
4. Spread evenly. Use overlapping passes to create a thin, complete film.
5. Buff clear. Use the second clean towel until the surface is streak-free.
6. Inspect in good light. Check from more than one angle before moving to the next section.

When to pause

Stop if the product dries before it can be levelled, leaves persistent streaking or reacts unexpectedly with an existing finish. Reduce the section size, recheck temperature and use clean towels before continuing.

Check the surface before you start

Identify the material and the problem you want to treat. Previous coatings, repairs, damage, temperature and application technique can all affect the result. Test a hidden area if you are unsure how the surface will respond.

Work on a cool surface, out of direct sun, in sections small enough to control. If a first pass does not give the result you expected, check the surface and your method before adding more product, increasing the concentration, rubbing harder or leaving it on longer.

Before you put the tools away

• Inspect the whole treated area in good light, from more than one angle. Check for an even finish and remove residue, overspray and excess product.
• Check visibility and grip wherever the treated surface could affect driving. Resolve any issue before using the car.
• Keep tools for wheels, paint, glass and interiors separate. Clean them after use and discard contaminated consumables.
• Follow the drying, curing and washing restrictions on the label and in the steps above.
• For an unusual material, note what you used and how it responded. It will help next time.
