Hermosa Wheel Cleaner

What you’re working towards

Brake dust and road contamination removed from compatible wheels using separate tools and a fully rinsed process.

What you need

• Hermosa Wheel Cleaner in a clean spray bottle
• Protective gloves and eye protection
• Barrel brush, soft face brush and detailing brush
• Hose or pressure washer used safely

Dilution

For routine cleaning, mix 1 part Wheel Cleaner with 3 parts water. Example: 250 ml product plus 750 ml water makes 1 litre. Use a stronger mixture only where the product label permits and contamination requires it.

Wheel process

1. Cool and test. Wheels must be cool. Confirm compatibility on an inconspicuous area, especially on specialist or damaged finishes.
2. Pre-rinse. Remove loose brake dust and contamination from the face, barrel and wheel arch.
3. Apply evenly. Cover one wheel at a time. Colour change indicates reaction with iron contamination.
4. Agitate by zone. Use the barrel brush between spokes, the soft brush on the face and the detail brush around nuts and tight corners.
5. Rinse completely. Do not allow product to dry. Inspect and repeat only where required.

When to pause

Do not apply to hot wheels or allow the solution to dry. Stop immediately if an uncoated, polished, refinished or damaged surface reacts unexpectedly.

Check the surface before you start

Identify the material and the problem you want to treat. Previous coatings, repairs, damage, temperature and application technique can all affect the result. Test a hidden area if you are unsure how the surface will respond.

Work on a cool surface, out of direct sun, in sections small enough to control. If a first pass does not give the result you expected, check the surface and your method before adding more product, increasing the concentration, rubbing harder or leaving it on longer.

Before you put the tools away

• Inspect the whole treated area in good light, from more than one angle. Check for an even finish and remove residue, overspray and excess product.
• Check visibility and grip wherever the treated surface could affect driving. Resolve any issue before using the car.
• Keep tools for wheels, paint, glass and interiors separate. Clean them after use and discard contaminated consumables.
• Follow the drying, curing and washing restrictions on the label and in the steps above.
• For an unusual material, note what you used and how it responded. It will help next time.
