Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Dilute the solution

For optimal performance, dilute Hermosa Wheel Cleaner before use.

Mix at a 1:3 ratio

1 part Wheel Cleaner : 3 parts water

Example:

  • 250ml Wheel Cleaner
  • 750ml Water
  • Makes 1L ready-to-use solution

Always mix in a clean spray bottle and shake gently before use.

For heavier contamination, a stronger mix can be used.

Step 2

Let the Car Cool Down

Wait for the car to cool down if it has been driven recently, especially if the wheels or hood feel hot. It's best to wait at least 30 minutes for them to cool.

Once the vehicle and wheels are cool, put on your gloves and let's get started!

Step 3

Rinse the Wheels

Give the wheels a thorough hose down or water blast, aiming to remove as much brake dust, road debris, and dirt from the inside of the wheel arch as possible.

Step 4

Apply Hermosa Wheel Cleaner

Spray the Hermosa Wheel Cleaner liberally over the wheel

The solution will turn red in colour as the chemicals activate with the metal debris from the brake rotors and brake dust.

Step 5

Scrub Between the Spokes

Use the wheel brush to remove all the dirt and solution from between the spokes and on the inside of the rim.

Step 6

Clean the Front Face of the Wheel

Remove all the solution and debris from the front face of the wheel using the flat brush

Step 7

Detail the Wheel Nuts and Tight Corners

Using the detailing brush, carefully remove all the dirt from around the wheel nuts and any tight corners where other brushes may have been unable to access.

Step 8

Rinse Off the Solution and Debris

Using a water blaster (or the garden hose on full power), thoroughly remove all the solution and loose debris from the wheel.

If the wheels have not been cleaned for some time, a second spray of Hermosa Wheel Cleaner may be required to target stubborn stains.
